notopodiumOne of the series of dorsal divisions of the parapodia of an annelid; a dorsal oar. The double foot-stumps in a double row along the sides of many worms are the parapodia; and these are divided into an upper or notopodial and a lower or neuropodial series, also called the dorsal and ventral oars respectively.
